We work with clients to develop and implement personalised and evolving empowering practices and therapeutic plans, suited to clients’ individual needs. The focus is always on clients’ presenting issues, changing moods, energy levels and psychological state/s on any given day and at any given time.

Cues and instruction are informed by an in-depth understanding of yoga philosophy, learning theory, functional anatomy, biomechanics, treatment options and medication side effects, an understanding of mental and psychological health issues, somatic counselling skills, and trauma-informed and ethical practices.
07. IAYT STANDARDS
Being committed to complete the IAYT-Certification, we adhere to the professional ethics, guidelines, and codes as defined by the IAYT. For those clients that are more oriented toward traditional yoga, we value the ethical yogic principles outlined by Patanjali (yamas and niyamas) and strive to incorporate these principles into our professional practice.

At baobab yoga therapy, the yogic principles of ahimsa (non-harming), satya (truthfulness), and aparigraha (non-coveting) remind us to stay with what we know and to refer our clients to others whose expertise is relevant to clients’ conditions when it is beyond our expertise, in the interest of their safety and healing.
